Corrections Policy

Power Station Scout aims to publish accurate information about portable power stations.

Because product specifications, firmware, recalls, availability, and manufacturer documentation can change, corrections and updates are part of maintaining the site.

What We Correct

We may correct:

• incorrect specifications
• incorrect model identification
• calculation errors
• outdated safety information
• broken or misleading internal references
• inaccurate descriptions of source evidence

meaningful grammatical errors that alter meaning.

Updating Information Is Not Always a Correction

Some changes reflect new information rather than an error in the original article.

Examples include:

• a new product generation
• a new recall
• a firmware update
• a discontinued model

a warranty change.

Those may be handled as content updates.

Substantive Corrections

When an error materially affected:

• a recommendation
• a safety statement
• a calculation
• an important conclusion

we may add a visible correction or update note where appropriate.

Minor spelling or formatting corrections may be made without a correction notice.

How We Review Correction Requests

A correction request does not automatically mean the existing content is wrong.

We verify the issue using appropriate evidence.

When manufacturer documentation conflicts with credible independent testing, we may preserve both and explain the difference.

Manufacturer Requests

Manufacturers may submit factual corrections.

Providing a correction does not give the manufacturer:

• editorial control
• approval rights

the ability to remove accurate criticism.

Corrections to Product Rankings

A recommendation may change when new evidence affects:

• technical suitability
• safety
• availability

use-case performance.

We do not preserve an old ranking merely because the article previously recommended a product.
